I'm Coming Home

I'm coming home, I'm on my way Like a river meets the ocean Like a vessel nears the port out from the bay Every wave that crashes towards the shore It seems to whisper A song that I have never heard before A song that I will never hear again And every ship that sails the open sea She seems to travel with a spirit that runs free A spirit that never falters through the storm Both the spirit and the song You know they help me to carry on In this journey that brings my heart home I'm coming home, I'm on my way Like a river meets the ocean Like a vessel nears the port out from the bay That has chartered unsafe waters But was tall and strong and true along the way We are finally moored at harbor Where we sleep where we rest and where we lay Now I know no one said that life is easy Life is tough, but I'm weathering the storm But my mind it is so strong It's your love that keeps me warm With a hand to hold and a heart that understands I'm coming home, I'm on my way Like a river meets the ocean Like a vessel nears it's port out from the bay That has traveled unsafe waters But was tall and strong and true along the way We are finally docked at harbor Where we sleep and where we rest and where we lay And so my fire continues to burn with a desire To help and heal and learn But now the truth, I'll let it be revealed That through these songs my heart begins to heal I'm coming home, I'm on my way Like a river meets the ocean Like a vessel into port out from the bay That has chartered unsafe waters But was tall and strong and true along the way We are finally safe at harbor Where we sleep, where we rest, and where I say I'm coming home, I'm on my way Like a river meets the ocean Like a vessel nears it's port out from the bay Like a vessel nears home port out from the bay. |
